The Indian Armed Forces said on Sunday that helicopters would be flown
at various hospitals across the country to thank the struggle of
doctors, nurses and health workers against Coronavirus. But that flower
shower did not take place in Kolkata. The Air Force said that it had not
received permission from the state government.
The Indian Air Force had planned to shower flowers from a helicopter
on selected hospitals in different parts of the country on Sunday. This
program was organised to send a message to the Corona warriors.
The Indian Air Force had planned to shower flowers at Beleghata ID
Hospital and Eastern Command Hospital in Kolkata. But in the end, the
program was canceled because West Bengal state government did not give
permission.
According to Hindustan Times report,
The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) plan for showering petals over two Kolkata
hospitals engaged in fighting the coronavirus across the country on
Sunday (3 May) morning was not cleared by the West Bengal
administration.
Later, The Air Force’s Mi-17 helicopter showered flowers over the
Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute and saluted Corona warriors.
