The convention was opposed by the Udalguri district committee of All Gorkha Students’ Union and Assam Gorkha Sanmellan. The convention was scheduled to be held at Kachurabari ME School but the Udalguri district administration cancelled the permission to hold the meeting at midnight. The guests arrived and finally the Udalguri district administration permitted them to conduct the convention at the Udalguri Bishnu Rabha Auditorium premises.
