Vigilance Awareness Week starts at SSB Siliguri Frontier

Shri S K Sarangi, Staff Officer (Admn), SSB Siliguri Frontier administered the pledge to SSB personnel during the Vigilance Awareness Week at the Ranidanga Campus on 27th Oct’14
 Shri S K Sarangi, Staff Officer (Admn), SSB Siliguri Frontier administered the pledge to all participants on the occasion of the Vigilance Awareness Week celebrations at the Ranidanga Campus on 27th Oct 14. Similarly, the personnel of Sector Hqrs Ranidanga, Area Organizer Darjeeling and SSB Training Centre at Ranidanga took the pledge to eradicate corruption in all spheres of life and remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of the Force.
An interactive programme was also organized on this occasion in which Officers of SSB Siliguri Frontier discussed matters relating to vigilance against corruption.

Sri S. K. Dhar, Addl. Judge Attorney General, SSB Siliguri Frontier spoke and emphasized the need for maintaining personal integrity and honesty while dealing in financial and public matters. He also explained the objectives for observing Vigilance Awareness Week in the Government offices. Shri Dhar pointed out that the grey area where corrupt practices thrive is while tendering, issuing of Supply order, Recruitment, Border duties, etc. He pointed out that every work done by the personnel in official capacity should be able stand the test of being legally right, free of favoritism, manipulation and even appear to be over board. He discussed the sterner aspects of SSB Act & Rules for combating corruption in the organization. He advised the force personnel to rededicate themselves to cleaning the society of this malice.

Shri K. M. Cariappa, Publicity Officer, Siliguri Frontier explained the different Government initiatives of the Government of India for ensuring transparency, accountability and probity in Government mechanism. He said that the Prime Ministers Swachata Abhiyan is about cleaning our surroundings. We must go ahead and clean up our minds and the society of these corrupt elements and re-establish the society that stood for Dharma. Shri Cariappa also explained the consequence of Unique Identification Number, Adhar Card, Right to Information Act, Lokpal Bill, etc., as instruments to improve Governance and  make administration effective and transparent.

Shri S. S. Roy, Dy Commandant (Communication), SSB Siliguri Frontier elaborately explained the use of modern technologies to combat corruptions. He detailed the various means with which the SSB is tracking and checking corrupt practices in the Force. He explained e-governance, e-procurement, e-taxation, e-judiciary, e-payment etc., to make create a corrupt free and vigilant administration.

An interactive session followed to clear doubts on this subject. SSB personnel irrespective of rank and files took part and exchanged their views on combating corruption.
