SSB exchanges Diwali, Deepavali greetings with Nepal and Bhutan Police
Shri Bansidhar Sharma, IPS Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal’s (SSB) greetings and pleasantries were conveyed through the Commandants of Sashastra Seema Bal, India to their respective counterparts in Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal and with the Royal Bhutan Police on Indo Nepal border and Indo Bhutan border respectively on the occasion of Depawali on 23rd October’14.

Shri Sudhir Verma Commandant of 41st Bn met with Mukunda Raj Acharya SP of District Police, Jhapa, Shri Rohit Raj Pokhrel Assistant Chief District Officer, Jhapa and Shri Prem Raj Pokhrel SP, Jhapa of AFP. Shri Tapan Das, 2-in-Command of 10th Bn met with Shri Karma Weezir, District Magistrate and SP of Samachi District of Bhutan. Shri Umesh Thapliyal, 2-in-Command of 19th Bn Thakurganj met with the SHO of Bhadarpur of Nepal. Shri Ajay Kumar 2-in-Command of 53rd Bn Simlabari presented sweets for SP, DM, ADM and the Consul General of Bhutan. Shri Koushalesh 2-in-Command of 12th Bn met with the Shri Prem Raj Pokhrel SP of AFP at Bhatgaon SSB Border Out Post in Kisanganj in Bihar. Sweets were handedover to SDO and CO of Royal Bhutan Police of Lamoyzinka across Kalikhola BOP of 34th Bn Alipurduar. Similarly, sweets were handedover at Pasupatifatak in Darjeeling District to SHO, APF.

Commandants of SSB emphasized that this effort was to reiterate the ‘Roti Beti Ka Rista’ and to strengthen the enduring relationship with for the people of Nepal and Bhutan. The Forces restated their will to keep in constant touch with the counterpart, share intelligence and involve in confidence building measures.

SSB informed the counterparts of our welfare activities along the border and our small efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries by dedicating an ambulance service at Panitanki BOP for the Nepali citizen in India and across to avail in need. We also informed them of our free Cleft Lip and Palete surgery and plans for distribution of free aids and appliances for the physically challenged persons along the INB and IBB.
