Kurseong TMC Supporter dissatisfied as Kundan Mangrati gets no post

Former Kurseong TMC convener Kundan Mangrati
Trinamul Congress activists and supporters, who had been working in the party under former TMC Kurseong sub-division convenor, Kundan Mangrati, are a dissatisfied lot and they are in a dilemma as Mr Mangrati has not been given any post in the recently-shuffled party rank and file.
TMC activists and supporters from Kurseong, Ashok Pradhan and Praveen Lama, said they have been working in the party since last year under Mr Mangrati, and that they, along with several others from different places in Kurseong sub-division, had joined the party under the former convener. “But surprisingly, he was not given any position in the newly-shuffled party structure,” they said.  Mr Lama said that since Mr Mangrati has not been given any post, they now are at a loss as to whom they will work under.
Mr Mangrati said that since joining the TMC in Darjeeling Hills as the party’s Kurseong convenor, he has been working for the interest of the common people and the party. “I am ready to accept whatever post the party gives me, but the post must be considered according to my capacity and ability,” he said.
He added that he recently came to know that a senior post at the district-level was being discussed in the party for him.
The TMC Darjeeling Hill president, Rajen Mukhia, said that Mr Mangrati himself had told him that he is ready to work for the party even as a simple member. However, according to him, he later came to know that Mr Mangrati wanted the post of the block president.
“But as the block level posts have already been filled, other appropriate posts will be considered for him as the reshuffling is still going on,” Mr Mukhia said.
Notably, since the establishment of the TMC in the Hills, the two have been working in groups under different leaders in the name of the Hill TMC and the All India TMC.(EOIC)
